Forgiveness

Today our church was blessed to host Susan Sandager as she portrayed Corrie ten Boom. To hear of the events of Corrie's life and the incredible acts of forgiveness God gave her the strength to endure was incredible. I listened intently as she told of meeting a former guard of Ravensbrucke Concentration Camp - the cruelest guard in the camp. He was also instrumental in the death of her own sister, Betsie. The guard had since become a Christian and came to Corrie after a service in which she had spoken and asked her to forgive him. Corrie said it wasn't easy, but as soon as she grasped the man's hand, a sense almost akin to an electrical surge coursed down her arm and into the hand of the guard. At that moment, the words, "You are all forgiven" rolled off of her tongue. What an incredible picture of grace... what an incredible picture of the forgiveness and grace of Christ towards us. The question I have however is this... Whom do you need to forgive? Is there anyone in your life against whom you are holding a grudge or bitterness? Why not forgiven them today and experience God's grace in a fresh new way?
