All Out War

I don't know about you, but lately it seems to me that we have been facing challenges far greater than we've ever faced before. I know personally, I have been battling doubt, depression, anxiety, fear, troubling dreams, as well as issues with family members. This past week I was hanging out with several other pastors from churches of all sizes and flavors. After the normal chit chat, our conversation turned to the spiritual warfare that is being waged against the church today. Each of these pastors commented that they too had been battling some of the same issues I have been facing. And the problems we face seem insurmountable. As I think about this, I'm reminded of the writings of David. Numerous times he faced these same issues. I also think of Moses and the troubles he faced. As well as Elijah and Jeremiah, who both were attacked many times by depression and anxiety. But in every one of these cases, we can see that even though Satan was feverishly at work, God was also preparing His people for great victory. What seems insurmountable to man is nothing to our God. Greater is He who is in us than he that is in this world. This is the time for God's people to fight... How? On our knees... fervently asking God to prepare our hearts for what He wants to do among us. This is the time for us to turn our hope towards Him alone and trust that the victory has already been won. It's not a time to compromise but a time to stand strong - together - by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is an all out spiritual war going on around us. Let us not become casualties of that war.
