A few observations about yet another wonderful Sunday at MVC.
1. The weather wasn't as bad as a lot of folks thought it would be Sunday morning. Good to see the crowd that turned out for the services.
2. Great time of worship, as always. It's true that the Spirit of God inhabits the praises of His people. I'm really looking forward to the Christmas service next Sunday. Have you invited anyone?
3. We had several people come to know Jesus yesterday!!! I always get pumped up whenever I see folks respond to the Holy Spirit.
4. Several others of you told me that you were "set free" from the sermon yesterday. You chose to leave the past behind and live in today while reaching for tomorrow.
5. It is so true that we forget the things we should remember and remember the things we should forget. I know that's true in my life.
6. Hope you're not waiting around until the last minute - like me - to get your shopping done. I don't know why I continue to torture myself year after year.
7. Please be in prayer this week as we begin interviews for a full-time youth pastor. Phil has done a great job serving but will be unable to assume full-time duties. He has been involved in the process of selecting his replacement and is excited about the possibilities.
8. As we enter into the last few days before Christ's birthday, remember that Christmas is for-giving, for-going and for-getting.
