Sunday

Well, it’s snowing outside and we’re not sure how long it will last or how much we will get. I love the snow, but I love worshipping with God’s people at MVC much more. I think sometimes we take those special times for granted. Sunday is much more than just another meeting. It’s about a life-changing experience for those who may not know Jesus. It’s a time of finding hope for the discouraged. It’s a time of encouragement for the children of God. Have you ever thought about this: any given Sunday someone will be at MVC for the first time. And God has divinely arranged for that person to be in attendance. People will be there that could very easily be one hour, one minute, one heartbeat away from an eternity without Jesus. God wants to do things at MVC that would absolutely blow us all away if He were to dump it on us all at once. Who knows? The next great evangelist or world-changing pastor may be sitting in our auditorium on Sunday. And that person may not even know Jesus yet. God wants to use us to reach people like that and unite together to make a significant, eternal impact in our world. And I’m not just talking about what goes on inside the four walls of our building. Each of us have been called, equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach out to those who haven’t darkened the doors of MVC or any other church yet. Will you invite them? Will you encourage them? Will you pray for them and share the story of God’s love in your life? Maybe you, yourself are discouraged. Maybe you’re going thru times that are so tough that you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Well, the light is there and it is Jesus. He knows where you are! He knows what you are going through! He has NOT forgotten you!!! When is the last time you begged Him to do something miraculous and undeniable in your life? I believe that God has placed unlimited potential within the hearts of those who are children of God. The enemy wants to destroy that potential and steal away the hope of Christ. Don’t let him succeed. The Bible says that as a believer, you have authority over him in the name of Jesus. Rebuke him and he has to leave you alone. You have important work to do. People need hope! People want to change! People want to live! And God has given you a special place in this world to tell them that all they ever need can be found in Christ! Tell them! Sunday’s coming... This could be the last message they hear. Sunday is not just another meeting. It’s not just another appointment. It’s not something to drag you down…it’s a gift given to us thru the birth, life, death and resurrection of the Son of God. GO FOR IT!!!
