Yesterday was a wonderful day! Those of you who missed the public baptism in the North Fork River missed a GREAT time! The water was COLD! But I never get tired of seeing folks saved and baptized. I believe the new 9:30 am service is going to work out well. The crowd was a little off yesterday, but I attribute that to everybody trying to squeeze in their vacation before school starts back. Continue to invite your friends to church. Folks, we have something wonderful going on at Mountain View. We all ought to be sharing the news with everyone with whom we come in contact.
One thing I want to really encourage you to do is this: now that the services run back to back, resist the temptation to come to church, drop your kids off, and leave after you attend worship. We've structured things so that you can have a greater opportunity to serve. If you attend the 9:30 service, stay on campus and help out with the supporting ministries for the 11:00 service. And if you attend the 11:00 service, come early and serve in the 9:30 service. The children's ministry has also been structured to provide your kids with biblical teaching during the 9:30 time slot. And a time of kid's worship and other activities during the 11:00 time. I believe that one of the missing elements in our churches today is discipleship. Let's do a better job of preparing our kids for tomorrow by teaching them about our faith and the wonderful Savior we serve.
I'm really getting pumped about the Sourwood festival! We've got over 3000 Mountain Dews we're going to give away as well as about 800 bibles. Hope you can join us! Come get a Dew from the View!
