Going thru the Motions

I woke up at 3:30 am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So I started surfing the web and ran across Matthew West's new music video - "Thru the motions". In fact, I found it on the Atlanta Braves website. http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/atl/ticketing/matthew_west.jsp Any way, as I listened to the song my heart was struck with the question - "Am I giving everything for the glory of God?" So many times I've found myself coasting along - going thru the motions, content with mediocre. I don't want to be like that. I want to pursue God and His plan for my life with unadulterated passion and desperation!!!!! Can you imagine what a difference it would make if all of us were to be like that? Think of the potential changes that would take place in our lives, in our neighborhoods, in our cities and in our world!!!! Some how I think that's what happened in Acts when 120 folks came together and said, "We're tired of going thru the motions. We want the promise that Jesus said He would send to us. Holy Spirit, rain down!!!" And in that moment of total surrender and desire for more of God, the sound came as a rushing, mighty wind, and the Holy Spirit filled the house and they were filled with His Spirit!!!!! And there was a marked difference in their lives from that moment on. And they shared the Good News with everyone in their city. Oh God, fill us once again! Flood our hearts and our lives! Give us fire and passion to win the lost at any cost. Give us eyes to see your plan and turn our hearts back to you again!!!! Help us to give everything and never be content to simply "Go thru the motions". Pour out your Spirit upon our sons and daughters. We need You, Jesus, to heal our hearts and heal our land.
